Our Apocalypse

Planet Earth has been a sanctuary for humanity for a long time, and unfortunately as our influence over the planet got stronger, the more permanent damage we’ve caused. While efforts to try and reverse these effects were made, they simply weren’t enough to counteract the continuing destruction of the planet. Ice caps melted, coastlines flooded, countless cities destroyed. Still not enough to convince the minds of those in power to change. Eventually there would be a final consequence, one that wouldn’t even spare the innocent. At the time of writing this, I have survived long enough to document the chaos this apocalypse caused. All I know is that a storm formed near the equator, and slowly engulfed the planet. This wasn’t a normal storm, it was huge, inescapable, and had unpredictable effects on people and structures caught in its path. I wasn’t sure of my chances, so in a final effort to give my life purpose, I tried to capture the moments leading up to it, along with the aftermath of this apocalypse, our apocalypse. As a paranoid prepper, I was able to find ways to survive the rain. This rain’s effect on those unprotected, was unholy. I can only hope that if anyone is able to survive, withstand the storm, and work towards rebuilding that they will learn from the mistakes of those that caused all of this.
